so iam planning on building a budget pc for gaming + video editing. iam having a doubt  on buying a core i3-7100 for the built,

the gpu is going to be a gtx 1070 and the 7th gen i3 can run games very well with this gpu but what about video editing?

can it give me a smooth timeline? i wanna know if it will bug me during the editing session.

If you are going to do video editting, then I recommend getting and R5-1600 and a Ryzen motherboard. Video editing will be much nicer on the Ryzen chip

So that 1070 would be bottlenecked with anything lower than a I5. Gamer nexus did a good review on that. Is an i5 outside of your budget?

Not an i5, an AMD R5 chip. Id recommend the board and chip I put there. While gaming will be better on the i5, the extra boost for video editing might be better in your case

Its fine! Rendering will be much faster on the R5 because of its 6 cores and 12 threads compared to the i3s 2 cores and 4 threads or i5s 4 cores 4 threads
