I screwed up

FosterGuy
Go to solution Solved by Princess Luna,

You don't connect your display on the motherboard  you connect it to your video card which will have Display Port for what that "kickass" is worth.

I recently order a new computer that is kickass but I'm pretty sure I screwed up on my monitor and mobo.

The mobo is an ASUS with HDMI and DVI, while the monitor I purchased is Displayport only.  It's a 1440p 144hz monitor.

Can I get a DisplayPort to DVI or HDMI conversion cable?  If so, will I be able to run at 1440p and 144hz?  If not I'm going to have send the mobo back and get a diff one.

Mmmhhhh do you use a graphics card? or you want to use the CPU- integrated graphics?

For GPU you will have Display port almost 100% (you would have to order a REALLY old card to not have one with display port).

For integrated graphics, I don't know if integrated will be able to run anything at 144hz x)

Yeah.......the last PC I built was over 15 years ago so fingers crossed man.  I've been trying to keep up with all this shit over the years, but when you don't put into practice what you read it can be a bit overwhelming.
