Best "all purpose" graphics card under $200

Maximoose

Hey I need the best latest gen all purpose graphics card for under or at $200. It can be AMD or Nvidia, whichever one you think is best (please debate that somewhere else though please), but it will be paired with a Ryzen 1600. I will be doing light gaming (sandbox, like Minecraft, City Skylines, and Scrap Mechanic, but I also want it to be able to handle a little bit of FPS just in case), light content creation (in 1080p, video editing and light Blender animation), and just all the other basics. I will be pushing 2 1080p monitors but I will only run a game on 1 at a time. I want what performs best in the benchmarks, not in specs.

Got an Android, never going back to apple again (notice I spelled apple with a lowercase and Android with an uppercase)

Where can I get one, the only places that have it reasonably priced is Microcenter and they only have them in store, the nearest Microcenter is 18hrs away. Can you suggest something that is readily available?

rx480/ 580 in stock or if you can get 50$ more get a used gtx 980 ti.

What risks come with buying used? What are the chances of a used card dying soon after purchased?

The chance of it dying depends on how old it is. Generally, GPUs from the last 2 years shouldn't die within a short period of time after purchase. In my opinion, buying cards 1 generation old (900 series from nvidia, 300 series from amd) is definitely fine. Even older hardware will require some detailed inspection.

Of course, there are "mining" cards out there with lower than average selling prices and ran for a long time, so be aware and stay away from those cards.
