So I run the PC Budget Solutions YouTube channel and I have a series called Building a Gaming PC for Less than $300.  Both so far have been used builds and sadly one actually died (motherboard died) and I bought a replacement board (identical) and i was DOA.  But anywho, I was considering putting that build against something like this:

CPU: AMD - Athlon X4 860K 3.7GHz Quad-Core Processor  ($49.99 @ Amazon)
Motherboard: MSI - A68HM-GRENADE Micro ATX FM2+ Motherboard  ($49.99 @ Amazon)
Memory: Team - Vulcan 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory  ($46.99 @ Newegg)
Storage: Seagate - Barracuda 500GB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive  ($35.49 @ Amazon)
Video Card: PowerColor - Radeon RX 550 2GB Red Dragon Video Card  ($73.98 @ Newegg)
Case: VIVO - CASE-V00 ATX Mini Tower Case  ($27.99 @ Newegg Marketplace)
Power Supply: EVGA - BV 450W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply  ($23.98 @ Newegg)
Total: $308.41
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

That includes shipping but Newegg I get free shipping so it comes to a hair under $300.  Would anyone find this interesting?

You would get much better value for money if you bought used. After all, you are already useing a five year old procecor that could be found used on eBay easy. Check your local Craigslist. I saw a r9 290x for 50$ on mine the other day and have seen 2nd gen i5 and i7 mobo and ram combos with heat sinks going for around 100$.

It comes to about $310 with shipping, but I would recommend something like https://computers.woot.com/offers/hp-6200-pro-i5-quad-core-mt-desktop-1?ref=w_cnt_lnd_cat_pc_2_13 with a GTX 1050 in it. Comes with a 3.1GHz quad-core i5, 8GB of RAM and half a terabyte of hard drive space.
