Since there on the right corner of the picture is a pinkish connector named parralel port then that's an older mobo that has that kind of a chipset heatsink.(these heatsinks are still used tho on most motherboards and maybe on some it's covered by something or looks different)

They can be as big or small as you want. It just depends on what is needed. A big beefy CPU will need a bigger heatsink than for example the thing you pointed out.

That looks like an older northbridge or southbridge heatsink. What socket are you currently using?
