how to overclock ram to 3200 with ryzen on asus hero vi

i build few hours ago first i was having pos problems but after bios update its fixed. i have 1800x with 1080ti on asus corsair vi motherboard.

now in bois i can pick frequency to 3200 , but dram timing i cant figure it out what to set and should i chnage dram voltage to 1.35 or leave it at auto

You can't. Everyone is stuck on 2666Mhz at 1.35V. 

You'd probably have to get special RAM but that is still not guaranteed to work.

If your original timings are 15 15 15 15 36, change them to 14 14 14 14 34, and DRAM Voltage to 1.35V and RAM Speed to 2666Mhz.

Everyone as in for that specific motherboard, or every Ryzen user in general? :p-

My corsair vengence ram 16x8x2gb kit runs at 3000mhz perfectly with a 1600.

from the official website 6 18 18 36 . 

in bios in auto the chosen timing is 16 15 15 15 36

This specific motherboard. Some people can reach 2933 but that's it. I can't get to 2933. Waiting for another BIOS update.

Change it to 14 14 14 14 34 and it should be fine. Try 2666Mhz first and then if that boots you can try 2933.

i can boot in wo desktop even with 3200 at 1.35 with 15 15 15 15 36 but when i run asus realbench it crashes to blue screen

This means it's not stable. Do 14 14 14 14 34 with 2933 and see if that works.

PS : I can't hit 3200, it just plane refuses to boot at that speed, tried 16 - 16 - 16 - 38 - 1T and 2T / 15 - 15 - 15 - 15 - 36 - 1T and 2T

Do the BIOS with the Agesa 1.0.0.6. I'm on it with a prime and my RAM speed with flare x went from 2666 to 3200.

So... I really don't get what everyone's problem is.  Yes my timings are looser, I "can" tighten them up but see almost no improvement, where as I get a loss if I set them tighter at less speed.

 

In terms of the x8 link speed for PCIe, it's because I'm running dual graphics cards.

The good news I have found with my flare x kit is i can enable DOCP and not turn down the clock speed anymore. Before the beta bios I had to go down to 2666.

Timings are terrible. It's as good as my 14 14 14 14 34 at 2666Mhz. Timings and speeds are related. However, I praise your golden sample 1800X.

I'm having a similar issue but with Gigabyte AX-370 Gaming K7 motherboard and G. Skill Flare X RAM. 

 

My memory is running at 2400MHz and it's advertised to run at 32000MHz and optimized for Ryzen. Thing is I can't manually change the speed to 32000 in the BIOS, and same thing for my Ryzen 1700, I can't overclock it. I can only load XMP profile or press the Overclock button on my Motherboard but that results in the computer shutting on and off continuously, it doesn't even boot to the logo screen so I can't even access the BIOS after that. Only thing that worked was resetting the CMOS.

 

Any ideas? I bought this system like this because of everybody talking about how easy and safe it is to overclock Ryzen to 4.0GHz

Speed is not supported. Mine restarts many times before it's stable if I OC too high. 2666 is most stable. Manually set 2666 and do -1 to all timings.

I've seen techtubers like Bitwit and PaulsHardware set this RAM to 32000MHz. Bitwit even had the same board I have, how come it's not stable now?

 

And also, for some reason I can't manually change the timings or RAM MHz. I can only activate XMP profile. Everything else is greyed out. Do you have this same board? I'm on latest BIOS version btw

No, I have Crosshair VI Hero. Update your bios dude, it should help.

Don't forget that even if your RAM is rated at 3200 it just means it's overclocked to 3200. JEDEC Standard is 2133, anything past that is not standard so I suggest to try every speed and I'd start with 2666.
