Theoretically, the eGPU enclosure itself doesn't need additional drivers, if you use an Apple approved one. After that, it comes down to whether Apple offficially supports it, and if the manufacturer releases drivers for it.

GTX 10, and Radeon Pro/WX should be 100% good to go. It's likely that RX will also work.

 

Beyond that, you might need alternative drivers for models not officially supported.
