Bootable usb help!

Hello all,

 

I'm trying to install a linux operating system onto my usb, so i can boot with it.

My usb has been completely wiped, and i have an ISO file to burn onto it...

I'm not really sure how to do this lol.

 

Any help would be appreciated!

plug the usb stick in, boot the pc, go to bios, select usb as the boot drive

The usb currently does not have the iso file burned onto it yet, and i'm not sure how to make it bootable from there...

use rufus.

I'd prefer to not use an external program to do this; i'd like to know how to do it manually (If possible at all!!!)

use dd on linux and your good.

 

or make a fat32 part and mark bootable in fdisk.
