Budget Ryzen Build

Guest

that's not budget, that would be midrange. everything looks good but get higher clocked memory if you can, ryzen loves ram speed.

I'd drop to a non x 1600 since the X doesn't guarantee it can clock more and then reinvest that savings for a better cooler. If you use the stock cooler that comes with the 1600, you could use that for something else.

Could i just remove my current cooler and use the stock one?

If you got the non x, yes. The X doesn't have a cooler and unless your aftermarket cooler has an AM4 bracket, you wouldn't be able to set up your system.

No, I'm not "kidding you". It wasn't directed at you anyway.

With that out of the way. What is your main priority for this new build? Gaming, productivity or both?

with a ASUS mobo, 3000 to 3600 mhz seems to bring it close to a 7700k

In any case it wasn't meant to be taken literally. Nobody knows exactly how much TR will retail for.

I realize this. Then, intel will counter AMD by cutting prices on their i7's - just watch.
