Is there any type of tracking software or anything in general for desktops?

 

Thinking of getting insurance but wanted to check here firSt to see if you know of anything.  

 

Lojack is for laptops and car from what I understand.

not really, other than putting a GPS tracker on it like @Droidbot said.

if people steal your computer, they'll most likely wipe the drive unless you have top secret government files on there (the criminals don't want your porn library)

Major city in my state. So its not bad but not perfect where I live.

 

People live in nice areas and still buy home owners insurance.

If they log onto your email, then there is a way to track it.

 

See, when my laptop got stolen (shitty Dell I got from Best Buy) the guy happened to log onto my Yahoo! email.  From there, I went into the settings and it told me the last location where it was at.  I then tracked the IP address from where it last accessed the internet and pinpointed the location.
