Passive 3770k Question

I am running a 3770k @ stock clocks and I have a gtx 680 all in a 350D, so you have an idea of what kind of heat output my system makes. I am wondering if the silver arrow exreme is enough metal to cool my cpu without fans? Ill be using plenty of fans in my case however, but all running undervolted. Let me know what you guys think.

so, if you are using a lot of fans anyways, wheres the problem in installing some on the heatsink aswell? But if you can run a cooler passivley its either the silver arrow or the NH-D14.

I wouldn't rely on it to dissipate all that heat, your best bet would be to get a cooler actually made to run passively or just get some very quiet fans. I found this one guys saying that he ran his i7 950 with a Silver Arrow without fans:

I'd just like to ask what your using it for? as I passively cooled a i7 950 with my silver arrow and the temps sat at about 60 and took 3 hours of gaming to reach 70 at which point i decided i wanted a fan again so you can do it but only in short bursts

only used this for about a week so I would say go for something little more hefty like the nofan

Do you actually own a Silver Arrow or are you planning on buying one?
