Linus Commercial

Hello! 

I've been watching Linus for several years now and love his content. I usually don't get too involved in forums and this is actually my first ever forum! 

The one thing I wanted to ask people was, ever since the video where Linus talked about the Intel launch, I have seen (6 times in the last two days) Intel commercials on Youtube with Linus talking about how Intel is the only product he recommends for gamers and content creators. The only reason I ask is has anyone else seen this commercial? It was literally 5 seconds but I thought it was interesting to mention.

Nope, haven't seen it. As on YouTube right? I have AdBlock disabled there, but I only get other ads.

 

But judging by what you say that seems to be a weird text to say... But seems awfully true to what he actually does (or did)

How long ago was this commercial released? If he released it 6 months or a year ago, it would be true.

 

But now that Ryzen is out (and the BIOS/code issues are mostly ironed out), it's not clear cut anymore. Linus still seems to heavily favour Intel, but objectively, both are perfectly legitimate choices now.

I have no idea honestly. Its extremely interesting and I just saw it again today.

I fucking hate the commercials man I really do, I just start his flicks 3 minutes in now. Or if its a mandatory YT ad I turn down the volume and multi task for a bit, then skip it. I hope someone codes a program that can skip that shit automatically. Should be easy to do. I'd pay $10 for that program. Have the pc automatically mute the sound, blank the window and click on skip ad.... all automatically. When its skipped the audio is turned back on and thats your cue to alt-tab back to that window. Having that type of program would ease my stress and calm me down.

To be frank, if you're just gonna skip the ad using the "skip" button, you might as well just install AdBlock and be done with it.

 

Fun fact: If you hit skip, they don't get paid for the ad*

 

*note: They do get paid for the ad if you watch at least 30 seconds of the ad before skipping (If the ad is less than 30 seconds long, you have to watch the entire thing for them to get credit)*
