evga gta 450

can i use the evga gts 450 with a HP ProDesk 405 G1 Microtower i don't know the exact mobo but i just want to know generally if its compatable ive been trying for about an hour now and the nvidia driver thing keeps saying it hasn't detected any compatible hardware i just have it plugged in to the pcie x16 slot without any power because if i give it power idk how to boot my system

tf m8? of course its not gonna work if you dont plug the 6 pin in...
...dont forget to plug the pc in to the wall while you're at it

no no no thats not what i meant i mean when i have everything plugged in and all that and i press the power button the fans and all that spin up but its still a black screen idk do i need to install drivers for my card?

make sure the display is plugged into the gpu
