Video editing with only a good videocard?

If I have say for example a ryzen 1500X and a gtx 1070, will I still be able to edit videos well?

Yep, the 1500X is almost as good as an i7 7700 in video editing and the GTX 1070 is a beast

The truth is, a video card is mildly used in video editing, in Adobe at least, so you'll be as fast as your CPU allows.

I would say the 1600 equals the i7 6700 out of the experience in Sony Vegas I have had so far, so your giving the 1500x a bit too much credit haha

If u only do video editing then drop to a 1060 and get a 1600

I'd personally opt for the R5 1600, even if it's a bit more expensive, because once you go hexacore, you never go back

plus, it's fantastic for multiple programs running at once, and will make Premiere even smoother

Depends on the NLE. I'd check what they prioritize. I know Adobe software only uses the GPU for rendering of specific effects.
