Physical Standard Problems

I'm working in my school's IT department and we recently received 35 Dell Optiplex 3050 in the small form factor. We quickly realized that we had a problem because nearly all of our monitors support VGA and some DVI while the 3050 only supports HDMI and DP. I brought up the idea of getting dedicated graphics with VGA supported, such as the GT 710 which currently go for a little over $40. This would be cheaper than buying new monitors with HDMI supported because most monitors start at least $100. The problem with the graphics card is that power supply might not be able to handle the load. Our version of the Optiplex 3050 only has 180 watts max. Would anybody be able to confirm if my GT 710 idea would work or be able to give alternate cheap options?

Just thought of VGA to HDMI adapters. Oh well. Still, I would like to know if my GT 710 idea would be viable.

Why not get some adapters that are available HDMI/DP to DVI?
