Minecraft server does not work.

Hey

 

So basically I made a server using this video

I did everything right but .. When I join from my local IP address it works, but when from my public address it does not shows this:"java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused: no further information"

What should I do? I've even set "online-mode:false" so the server does not check if the Minecraft is legit. What the hell do I do to make this work?

Enable external connections to have access to the particular port of the server through the router and firewall maybe? I'm not sure.

Well, first step would be to ask if you know how to forward ports in your router?

If you dont know, post your router model so we can see if there is a step by step method

I asked my friend to join the server, I have him my public IP address and said him to put it in the direct connect and connect and it did not work.

Wouldn't "online-mode:false" need to be set to true?

My server has it set to true

Is he connecting to the correct port? What error message did he get?

did you check your firewall settings?

I set it to false because my friend has cracked Minecraft so it does not detect that it's not legit
