I need a software solution for controlling fan speed on my server. There's no option for fan control in the BIOS, I guess because it's an Asus H81 board with a very basic BIOS. I tried Speedfan within Windows but I couldn't get it to detect any fans. I can't find any other options anywhere. Do any more exist?

If speedfan doesn't work then your motherboard probably has no fan control hardware built into it, or at least none that interfaces with software.

Buy a fan controller.

My board came with AI Suite, does your have the option or did it come with some kind of "extras" software like AI Suite?

Which OS? It has a UEFI BIOS and from looking at Asus's page it looks like it comes with AI Suite, could be wrong.

Win10, guess I could just download AI Suite and it would recognize it then?

Go to Utilities and then scroll down to AI Suite 3

Ugh okay do you remember which installer you used? There are two different downloads that say AI Suite and in each folder when I download them there are like 8 different setup.exe files in different places, I can't get anything to work.

In the folder "Win10" > "AISuite3_1.01.05" > "AppSetup" > "Setup"

Try restarting your PC and then try again, if that doesn't work, maybe it's already installed or something. If not after that, then I would contact Asus live chat support, they'll be able to help you for sure.

Yeah when I try that it pulls up a loading bar that says something something DIGI+VRM something something (can't read it cause it disappears almost instantly) then nothing.

Did you try "Setup" and "AsusSetup"?

Yep, after clicking yes on "do you want to allow this app to make changes" they both just don't do anything.

Restarting your PC didn't do anything either?

This isn't THAT important so I may just give up for now tbh unless you can think of something else to try :D

I would definitely contact Asus's live chat support at that point. I've never had that issue.

Haha yeah I may, that's my luck for ya. Something simple that everyone can do like literally downloading and installing a program? Nope, doesn't work.

There is one other thing you could try, but you won't like it very much. And even then, I would still contact Asus's live chat support and tell them to get their heads out of their asses for such a basic issue. I would've been pissed.
