This is the notebook I have - http://www.asus.com/Notebooks_Ultrabooks/K53E/

Recently I've been working with an extensive set in a DAW and it has been sucking the CPU power entirely. The program is 64 bit and I have tweaked it to work with the four threads and within the program started using it to save CPU power. Even with this, my CPU just doesn't have the power I need. It has a i5-2410M, like the lowest tier of the mobile i5 range, and it is sandy bridge. I just opened up the laptop and yes the CPU is removable. The chipset in the laptop is an HM65. My options at this point are to buy a new laptop or replace the CPU with one that has more power, which seems lie it would be more cost effective.

Two questions -

1. What is the best CPU (preferrably i7) I could replace with this socket and chipset?

2. Where can I buy a laptop CPU?

Thanks for any help, and yes this is a repost but it was in the wrong section at first.

CPU - Intel Core i7 3770K @ 4.60GHz 1.264v | RAM - Corsair Dominator Platinum 16.0GB (2x8GB) | Motherboard - ASUS P8Z77 WS | Graphics - EVGA NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 | Storage -  120 GB Samsung 840 EVO | PSU - Corsair RM650 | Case - Corsair 550D

well, not something I would do,

but if you must. Here's a compatibility list for HM675 express.

http://www.cpu-upgrade.com/mb-Intel_(chipsets)/HM65_Express.html

and this is the only mobile i7 newegg has for socket g2

Didn't see anything on tigerdirect or NCIX

I'd say you're better off buying a new laptop.

Will work for electronic components and parts

Laptop CPU upgrades: hard to access + expensive + small return on investment = not worth it

Just save up and get a good laptop. Don't limit your success by having reduced production capability.

Alternatively you can probably do a 6 or even 8 core AMD build for less than $500 if you already have a monitor and peripherals, and just use your laptop when you're not in your workspace.

Don't do it, laptop cooling systems are not designed to cope with higher power CPUs, best to save up and get a desktop.
