When doing action shots, I find they look better when shooting 2-3 feet off the ground instead of 5 feet or so. A little bit of cropping and color adjustments and it should be good.

Im actually that they are not blurry as I took them with a point-and-shoot. Got to start somewhere!

Whites +45

Blacks -17

Clarity -7

Vibrance +5

Saturation +10

because its a overcast day and the camera is trying to lower the exposure. this results in darkening the actual subject. i would recommend using a flash for this kind of day and light conditions.

 

this will keep the exposure down so the sky will not be blown out but the subject wont be under exposed either.

 

also try to shoot the pic from close to the ground. this gives the photo a much wider feel.

I agree that an off camera flash would have helped in these photos. Try not to crop people's limbs. I know it can be hard but looks good when you nail it. Nice job overall though.

Not able to change it any more (well, open Photoshop and blur the background), but you should use wide aperture to only focus on the object itself in these kind of photos.

I sometimes use the pen from my wacom tablet to type cuz i'm too lazy to set it down :P

You'll need Lightroom (or Photoshop but Lr is more user friendly), and color efex 4  and a raw file of this picture. When you got this check Serge Ramelli on Youtube to see his workflow (you can learn quite a bit). If you don't mind sending one or two of these to me, I would do the editing for you just for fun and because I like skateboarding. Preferably in RAW,but JPEG is OK. PM me if you want.

hope you like it..Your face is out of focus a bit, and the ISO is a bit too hig that's why it's a bit grainy...this is the best I could do without like good 10 hours of heavy retouching it in Photoshop.
