How about Xeon?

Not a single one of you have discussed the "vs. Xeon" part of the question. Why is Apple using Xeon processors? Are they the same as i9? I thought intel stopped making them after the last joke of the MAC Pro.

Xeons aren't going away any time soon.

 

Most likely they are using the Xeons due to availability and ECC memory support.

 

Xeons are much more expensive than their i7/i9 counterpart.
