Unless he's going for a 6950x + titan xp then yeah, it'll be enough for most systems.

A good 620w psu will cover you up to and including a gtx 1080 ti + a 7700k with some ssds on the side.

wouldn't a 1080ti use more power? since you can get non reference boards? either way you should still be alright with 620w no? (though its getting close)

Unless we know specs for the system we can't say for sure dude...  tell us the specs please, at least the cpu + gpu

Well I don't have the specs, i'm trying to convince a friend that, it shouldn't really matter what you upgrade to, 620w wont be an issue.
