Help me choose between these builds

I'm planning to build my first computer in a long time and this is what I got

Ryzen+ RX 580

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/t929Z8

or

Intel +1070

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/hYdXtJ

I will be only using this to play games, visual studio and ms sql server.

I'm still torn on a 1440p monitor or 1080p monitor but I want it to be IPS.

Thanks

Or you could go with the Ryzen + 1070? If i was you i'd go for 1440p 60Hz though, but hey that's just me. If you're not opt-ing for 1440p you could easily save a couple of hundred bucks for 1080p 60Hz, and probably the more reasonable choice. I don't see why you should have a 1070 + a 1080p 60Hz monitor as @RadiatingLight seems to have suggested though. If you're going with a ryzen + 1070 (1440p) or 580 (1080p) i'd run with his build though, looks great to me ^^

May I know why you chose the asrock board instead of the MSI Bazooka?
