Hi I am building a new PC for the first time. I need an OS and I used Windows all my life, even as i am typing this, I need a new windows 10 instalation USB but the prices of it at repuable retailers are quie high and I read that there are places where they can be purchased for a fraction of this. But i do not know where those are located, how i can find them and most importantly if they are a scam. Could you recommend to me these websites if you know any of them and tell me if they are safe.

If you are curious this is the PC I am Building =  https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/QjPtyf

download a windows 10 ISO (64 bit) from the microsoft website, then buy a windows 10 key (if you downloaded home, buy a home key. if you downloaded pro, buy a pro key)

/r/microsoftsoftwareswap heard it's good

Ryzen 5 3600 stock | 2x16GB C13 3200MHz (AFR) | GTX 760 (Sold the VII)| ASUS Prime X570-P | 6TB WD Gold (128MB Cache, 2017)

Samsung 850 EVO 240 GB

138 is a good number.

You've got a few ways to buy Windows 10:

  • You can buy Windows directly from the Microsoft store (or software retailers). This will cost you $119.99, and it will get you a retail key (and if you want, a flash drive with the installer on it). Unlike OEM keys, retail keys are transferrable and reusable and work for both 64-bit and 32-bit Windows, but $120 is a bit expensive.
  • You can buy an OEM key from a site like Newegg or Amazon. They're typically around $90 but they may be on sale for cheaper. It's still quite a bit of money, though.
  • You can buy a key from sites suggested above which sell keys for cheap. I can't vouch for their legitimacy, as I've never used them before. Some people also refer to them as "gray market" sites, as some of those sites are notorious for having sellers that sell keys that end up getting revoked or are already in use. Do your due diligence here.

While you can technically proceed through the installer without activation, you are going to have a few limitations: you can't use Personalization, there's a watermark, and no support from Microsoft whatsoever.

As for how you can obtain Windows 10, you can get it either as a USB flash drive from the Microsoft Store (or retailers), you can use the media creation tool and put Windows 10 on a flash drive or create an ISO image, or you can download the ISO directly from Microsoft's website which you can apply onto a USB device yourself or burn onto a DVD disc (optical media is very, very slow, but you have better compatibility with much older PCs).
