Hello! I'm new to the LTT forum, but I really needed some help with a Ryzen 5 build that I'm working on. I want to cut costs as much as possible without sacrificing too much performance. I want to do some mild to intensive gaming while recording or streaming on the same PC.

I plan on overclocking my R5 1600 to 3.8-4 GHz when I get it.

Thanks for taking the time to help me!

There isn't much you can cut here but I would like to point out few things

1. PSU isn't the best but it would power an R5 1600 with 1050 just fine

2. I'd get a 2TB Seagate Barracuda instead

3. You could save cost by getting a cheaper case and cheaper RAM sticks

4. If you still want to save more money, get a cheaper board that is micro ATX. I heard there are problems with MSI boards but not totally sure on that.

I changed the case and motherboard, but not the RAM as it was only an $8 difference. I went ahead and spent $3 extra for a Seagate drive, and now the build is just under $600 USD.

Is the motherboard good?

I'm deciding between the ASRock AB350M-HDV and the MSI B350M GAMING PRO. Is there any significant reason to choose the MSI? If not, I'll stick with the ASRock, unless there is a much better board available.
