Ryzen memory help pls

So, I'm thinking of getting a Ryzen R7 1700x and I was wondering about the RAM issues. I know that there have been updates so that Ryzen can use up to 4000 mhz RAM, but is it better to use the GSkill Flare sticks that are certified to work with Ryzen, for some reason? Because I wants the GSkill Trident Z, cause, you know, RGB n' stuff...

I need to tweak my ram a bit. I have the Flare X 3200mhz kit and a R5 1600 paired with an Asrock Taichi board..it isn't booting at stock spec. When you bother spending extra on mb and ram..lmao

First, why are you considering a 1700x over the 1700. You can get basically if not the same performance for less. Next, the new agesa code by amd that was released a few days ago will be making it into bios's. This agesa will (hopefully) allow much more ram compatibility. I'd wait to see that, but if you dont want to then i'd recommend the flarex ram.

If you go Trident Z, you can get the 3200Mhz CL14 and it works quite well as it's the Flare X kit essentially

 

Or, you know, wait for the AGESA update and get a cheap 3200Mhz kit
