Hello i just got this new gpu and whenever i start a game it starts fine but after a few seconds the screen goes black.. i can still hear the game but i cant do anything. When i installed the driver it said it had finished successfully and it asked me to restart the computer but in the restart it showed a black screen. after this i shut down the computer manually and turned it back on and thats when the games crash after a few seconds. my pc specs are: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c03802547&tmp_task=prodinfoCategory&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&product=5368255&task=prodinfoCategory#N1325

A fresh windows reinstall always does the trick

Reinstall the driver, then Windows if that doesn't work.

Boot into safe mode and apply this software to remove all traces of drivers:

after that restart back in normal mode and  download this driver (latest):

http://www2.ati.com/drivers/beta/amd_catalyst_13.11_betav9.2.exe

 

install it and make sure to turn on overdrive, set the fan speed max to 100% and the thermal to 95.

I had black screen issues when the card wasn't keeping cool enough (with my r9-290x's)
