I absolutely love Asus' ROG STRIX line of products however, what's the deal with aesthetic feature differences between NVIDIA and AMD Radeon cards? Like, I already thought "Who f***ing designed the STRIX 1050 Ti's gorgeous heatpipes not be seen through my tempered glass side panel" when deciding between the STRIX 1050 Ti and the STRIX 1060. Why drop the RGB LED backplate on the 1060? >tfw you find out STRIX 480/580 have them. Browsing AMD Radeon cards just for fun. And then look, what's that, RX 460/560 got the heatpipes right? What the f*** Asus...It's not making me consider AMD Radeon cards but it's so depressing to know these very important aesthetic features have been dropped from the very exact two graphics cards either one of them you are going to buy.

I'm not the kind of guy who freaks out over RGB lighting. Then again, consider THIS.

It's kind of a low end+aesthetics build; Saving on mainboard, GPU, case and whatnot would be about 150€-200€. As I don't even have a use for higher computing power (My target is 1080p60) I might as well spend that little extra on aesthetics, it's really worth it to me, especially considering my parts list includes office desk and chair, monitor and peripherals. But extra 150€ just for the RGB LED backplate on the STRIX 1070 (and obviously, a 1070, but that's not even the main deal)? Haha.

RX480 and 580 are part of AMD's top of the line card, so of course Asus will give them the same treatment as the GTX 1070 and 1080/Ti. Going down to the line, additional features gets removed, like their RGB logo on the back plate.

The Strix GTX1060 got better cooler than Strix RX570. Triple fan and back plate for that, 570 has the same basic cooler as the 1050Ti.
