I currently have my entire pc build planned out, with a gtx 1070. I currently have a 1080p 75hz monitor, and I am not going to upgrade it. I really would like a 1600x, but gaming performance at higher refresh rates are not great compared to intel, however ryzen seems to have higher 0.1 and 1% low framerates. Basically which cpu is the best choice, a i5 7600k (overclocked) or a 1600x (also overclocked).

get a 1600 - the 1600x doesn't offer any difference besides an X and a higher clock speed, and they all overclock to either 3.9 or 4Ghz.

i5s and R5s are around the same speed mostly, the i5 pulls ahead in games from 2011-2014, whereas the R5 pulls ahead in more modern multithreaded games.

and then:

idk
