I have installed Visual Studio 2017 on Windows 10.  I am having a couple problems with VS at the moment.  First, whenever I want to close VS there's a message that pops up that says "Microsoft Visual Studio has detected that an operation is blocking user input.  This can be caused by an active modal dialog or a task that needs to block user interaction.  Would you like to shut down anyway?".  I've been trying to solve this problem for quite some time and there seems to be no solution for this from my best friend google.

I suspect this first problem is creating the next issue which is that I cannot create a new project no matter the type of project even after uninstalling, reinstalling, repairing VS, and restarting the computer this has solved nothing for either of my problems. However, my previous projects will open no problem, but I cannot edit, delete, or add new code to the opened project, which I suspect is due to the first issue I'm having.  Since I cannot find any solutions I'm pretty much at a dead end.

Did you already have a previous version of VS? Like 2015 or 2013? If not, have you tried using one of these previous versions?

No, 2017 is the first one I put on this computer.  I'll try uninstalling VS and try installing a previous version.
