You've got this nice, high build and running it on some mediocre Antec power supply? Why?

I'd like to know what you intend to use this PC for.

'Fanboyism is stupid' - someone on this forum.

Be nice to each other boys and girls. And don't cheap out on a power supply.

m.2 is unnecessary for gaming. It doesn't improve boot times or app launch times.

Also, OH GOD THAT PSU WHY WITH SUCH AN OP BUILD.

Get a G2 or G3 PSU, or if you wanna go overkill get a seasonic prime.

Make sure to quote me or tag me when responding to me, or I might not know you replied! Examples:

Not a criticism, just a curiosity; Why do you have a 500GB M.2 drive and a 128 GB SSD?

I mainly want to be able to play the best games on the highest settings on 1440p, also stream from time to time.

I already have some of the components from my current PC in there, like the power supply and the samsung 850 128GB, didn't think i needed a better one because of the 600W that it gives.

I also want to be able to overclock, you guys think it's better to buy a newer power supply in that case?

The VP600P is not 80+ certified, so it is inefficient compared to more modern units. Besides, pus can affect every other component. Given the amount being invested it only makes sense to use a newer, better psu. It will provide cleaner power which will contribute to component longevity and likely improve overclocking.

The psu, especially if it is a few years old will not provide much overclocking headroom. PCPartPicker puts the max draw at ~515W. SeaSonic SS-750AMSeaSonic SSR-750RM, or EVGA SuperNOVA 750 would be good choices. Although a good 650W unit would be sufficient.

You might consider going with a 2x16GB memory kit. This will leave two slots free for upgrading with no performance loss. Corsair - Vengeance LPX 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR4-3000 Memory

The case comes with three decent stock fans. Coupled with the two fans on the X62, there should be more than sufficient airflow for the build. Instead of adding fans, put the resources elsewhere.

If budget permits, you might consider a 1TB ssd like Crucial - MX300 1.1TB 2.5" Solid State Drive, instead of the M.2 drive. While the 960 Evo M.2 unit is faster, having more fast storage should provide for better overall performance. You might even consider dropping the hdd.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.

Even if you aren't you should get a new psu. Get something like a G2 or G3, at the very least.

Really? So why leave a M.2 slot still open free?
