What's wrong with the GPU? GTX 1060 6GB performs similarly with RX 580 8GB

Also why suggest AIO when it doesn't provide any significant better temp?

For the harddrive, you can get a 3tb Seagate Barracuda for less. It works great, I have one and I love it. Just use an SSD for a boot drive. Speed matters for booting

My Computer Rig:

MSI Z270 Pro Carbon

Intel i7 7700k

Nvidia 1080ti Founders Edition 11gb

Corsair Vengence LPX 16gb 3000Mhz Ram

MSI Frozr CPU Cooler

Seagate 3tb 7200rpm HDD

Sandisk 256gb SSD (Boot Drive)

Corsair CX550M Power Supply

Corsair SPEC-ALPHA Case

which won't change anything since he'll be gaming at 1080p. just let him live with his intel and nVidia choices they aren't bad and going for AMD in this case means having to deal with extra fiddling for the CPU (not recommended for a novice imo) and banking on Dx12 and Vulkan support in game (which will come, but isn't here yet)

your build is fine man go for it you'll be happy

Primary System

  • CPU
    Ryzen R6 5700X
  • Motherboard
    MSI B350M mortar arctic
  • RAM

  • GPU

  • Case
    kind of a mess

Wasn't the consensus that Intel CPU was better for gaming?

Very slightly.

But the problem is LGA1151 is a dead socket. AM4 will be used for the next 4 years so you have a upgrade path. And better minimums. (important for less suttering)

1600. If you overclock you can get it to 1600x speed really easily.

Yes the use a different socket:
