Hi, first time overclocking, want to know if I'm doing well, I lowered the voltages to 1.35 because the auto settings was around 1.44~1.46, I'm planning on boosting up to 3.8 GHz.
This is what I got so far
10ofuo1.png

Ryzen 5 1600
Msi b350 tomahawk
2 fans for intakes (front)
3 outtakes (is it a word?) (2 top, 1 rear)
And also the gpu and PSU works as outtakes.

How are my temps? Are they ok?

Is there a way to make the cpu run at a desired max clock speed but that it also downclocks when not loaded ?

-----------EDIT-----------------

The voltage was ~1.45 when all was at stock, cpu working at 3.2 ghz with 1.45 v.

If the auto OC set it to 1.46 and its not getting to like 80C its probably safe.  I run 1.5V on a 7600K and it has been fine, but its also running at like 12C under load.

As for the max clock at load and lower clocks at say idle or on the internet, it auto does that unless you unpark your CPU or set it to run max all the time.  Watch the clock on CPUZ when at idle vs when aida is running (make sure aida is actually not running during idle)

Temps look good but maybe check multiple programs for temps since, if I remember correctly, Ryzen is a bit weird with the temps. usually I dont like above 80C on anything but its up to you where you want to stop.

Not true.

1.) 1.46V is far above stock voltage

2.) 1.46V is the cause of motherboard overcompensating for stability

3.) 1.46V even with very good temperature can cause quite extensive electromitigation, degrading the CPU

4.) 1.4V-1.42V is max recommended for 24/7 use

I'm using 3,825GHz and 1,35V on my R7 1700.

And when stress testing with AIDA, I would recommend to use CPU + FPU + cache stress testing. But that will increase your temps a bit.

I get up to 73°C on my 3,825GHz and 1,35V on R7 1700, after around 1 hour of using AIDA64 with CPU + FPU + cache.

And I'm using Dark Rock 3 on ambient temps of 22°C.

Mine might be a bit hot, but I could always turn up CPU fan to 100%. And to be fair, while gaming I haven't ever seen my temps going higher than 61°C anyway. Most of the time sitting at 45-55°C.

As far as I know, anything under 75°C on Ryzen is 100% fine.
