Thunderbolt Backwards Compatibility Question

Hey Everyone :)

 

I know this may seem like a stupid question, but I have a question none the less.

 

I recently bought a Macbook Pro (Late 2011), so it has Thunderbolt 1.0.

One of my USB ports is dead, and I need a bit more expansion - however, I can't find any Thunderbolt 1.0 docks available.

If I was to purchase a Thunderbolt 2.0 dock, would it still work on a 1.0 controller - only at the 1.0 speeds of course. 

 

Like I said, kind of stupid, but thought to ask just in case.
