Help installing Minecraft Optifine + Shaders?

So I'm looking to get back into Minecraft and pretty it up a bit by installing Optifine, and then some shader packs to improve lighting and reflections. However, I'm having serious trouble installing Optifine. When I try to run the installer, a CMD window appears for a split second and then disappears, rather than the install wizard opening. I've looked around online, and a common fix is to reinstall Java, which I have done, and it still isn't working. I've also tried reinstalling Minecraft and redownloading the Optifine installer. Anyone have any ideas?

 

Operating system is Win. 8.1 64-bit. Thanks in advance for help :D

open the .zip as java? after that it should appear a window with one-click installator

Remember to quote me (or someone else), otherwise we won't going to recieve your answers...

All you need to do is run the version of minecraft that you downloaded the version of optifine for. Then open Optifine and it will install itself automatically for that version

 

The only reason I'm here is that I have homework that I don't want to do

 

PC  Specs   CPU: Intel Celeron N3060 |GPU: Intel HD graphics 400 |RAM: 2 gigs  |STORAGE: 16 gigs

 

 

It took me half an hour to find where to change my signature :(

Unfortunately, neither of these worked, but I found another way - a small utility called Jarfix enabled me to open the .jar file perfectly. Thanks guys.

I've never installed shader but I think that you have to enable hidden folders in windows and then go into the minecraft folder and copy whatever shader you have to the texture/shader folder

The only reason I'm here is that I have homework that I don't want to do
