I want to buy a graphics card. I spotted a 1070 ofr 330 USD, but I'm worried whether I shouyld wait for the next gen cards to drop before buying for better performance or just plain price drops. Should I be worried> Or should I just go for it? Do we know when the next gens are coming officially yet?

In short, buy or wait?

i5 6600k and GTX 1070 but I play 1600-900. 1440p BABY!

Still, don't put too much faith in my buying decisions. xD

Hopefully you don't intend to wait for the one after, right?

Either way, you'll be buying a new card in two or three generations. Go for the 1070.

IMO buy or you'll be waiting forever. There are almost alway rumours for the next generation cards. Over time prices will drop but again if you wait for the price drops you'll be waiting forever.

The low-end vega should compete with a 1070.

might be $299. who knows?

+ AMD Finewine TM tech will make it really good in the future.

I've got a 970 in the system right now as I'm testing triple monitor setups with supposedly "weak" cards and it's holding up. Unless you're the guy/girl that needs the Ultra graphics, it'll be more than enough to get a 1070.

Would hurt 580 sales so I doubt it.

AMD's stated they want to make it so they have better drivers out of the box rather than waiting for better performance to come later.

Well GTX 1070s are $330, as stated in the original post.

It wouldn't make sense for AMD to price their competitor higher.

unless it was maybe performance between a 1070 and 1080?
