I've seen some people overclock their GPU through software like MSI Afterburner.

Is this the better option, to overclock through software rather than BIOS (is it even possible to OC through BIOS)?

Also is NZXT Cam software better than MSI Afterburner, any difference?

You can set base and boost clocks you've found to be stable later in the BIOS so they are 'permanent' I've done this to my GTX 660. Just means it always hits an OC I knew that was good, all the time.

So you don't have to load the profile in the OC utility or dial it in.

You can also increase the power target in BIOS, volts and a few other things. Really its down to the card though.

MSI Afterburner is the preferred choice for most GPUs. I find EVGA Precision X better for my cards though.
