You have double checked there is no additional CPU power socket on your motherboard? Mine for example has 2.

 

Failing that I'm going to say poor delivery from motherboard and replace the motherboard.

on this particular board there is a pin connector in the top left next to where i have my cpu power socket but i have no connector for it. I assumed it was meant for a different PSU

Buddy, I have EXACTLY the same struggle! Did the additional juice from the 8pin connector help to maintain the OC?

Step one reset coms

step 2 load optimized defaults

step 3 flash latest bios 

step 4 load optimized defaults again and boot into windows 

step 5 shut down 

step 6 go to bios and follow @tom_w141s guide
