So my mom and I are in need of a new PC. I was watching some of Linus's videos on virtualization and was wondering if i could do the same thing. Correct me if I'm wrong but I can have the PC in my room connected to my monitor and perephrials like I normally would and my mom in the other room could use maybe her old MacBook Pro or a barebones PC kit and use teamviewer to connect to the main PC as if it was right there with her? From what i saw, you can split the power of a cpu but you need a graphics card for each user. So i would probably have a r7 1700 (if i need a 1700x or 1800x i can) and i would have a rx 580 or a 1070 for me and a rx 560 or 570 for my mom (shes a creative professional).

Just get 2 pc's, its about the same cost, much easier to setup, much less hassle.

Remote desktop will be a pain if the conenction isn't perfect(aka wireless)

iommu is still a pain on ryzen.

Setting it up is a pain

you can just plug a usb drive in.

Id just get a gaiming pc for your self and have her continue to use her macbook pro.

why not build 2 pc or have multiple users, it will be an unnecessary hassle trying to recreate 2 gamer 1 cpu.

Ok. I thought it would be cheaper than buying two pcs since all you need is spare time and another gpu
