But I would strongly recommend the 1700 over 1800X

no 1800x is better then people think .I KNOW YOU CAN GET SAME PERFORMANCE for less price but power consuption difference is also great which will cause me to have a buy a better psu if i overclock so i better buy 1800x over 1700

wha?

1800x is 95W

1700 is 65W

OC doesn't really increase usage much.

It will be the same,

Why 6 core(i dont understand how they come into our talk) 1800x is 8 core

As far as I can tell, you're only going to be gaming. Though 1700 is a much better price/perf part than 1800x if you really want 8 cores.

Sarg, please state exactly what you want to do with your processor. You're just throwing around speculations otherwise.

As for your TDP argument:  At idle, 1700 overclocked to 4.05 GHz draws 66W, whereas the 1800X at base clocks pulls 71W.

Under load, 1700 overclocked pulls 236W, a mere 16W draw over the 220W of the base clock 1800X.

but this isn't risk. If OC gets it unstable, reset CMOS and start OC again.

Like the other guy said, they won't use too many cores for a while. Taking that into consideration, if they're close enough in price where you live, might as well go for the better performing one, which would be the i7.

Gaming is not going to outpace even a quad-core in the next decade, regardless of any and all multi-core optimisation. Your budget is best spent on the fastest VGA card you can possibly afford.

I HAVE TO BUY A CPU ALSO .i DONT HAVE GOOD COMPUTER And since people are buying ryzen more game developers will surely optimize games for ryzen .They will run better on more cores or something like that.If i buy a cheap cpu then i will have less money to buy a good gpu and i already have 2 r9 380x so it will not be worth it

Insane troll logic aside, if your computer isn't very good then it might not be able to handle either CPU. What are your specs?

Here's what you need to do: forget everything you just posted. Buy a 6700k. Start saving for a Volta card when they become affordable next year.

Then don't buy Volta. Buy secondhand Pascal. People will be letting their 1070s go like hotcakes come June 2018.
