Is this a good CPU upgrade to achieve all my goals? https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819117727&cm_re=Intel_Core_i7-7700-_-19-117-727-_-Product

My current build: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/XVJxyc

Ex of tasks I want i7 to perform

1. handle any game (most CPU intensive games I play are rust, ark, player unknown).

2. be able to watch videos/ play flash games while playing those game on the second monitor.

3. other than that it i-5 has worked great so just as long as it can keep up with what the i5 has done.

4. no overclocking.

5. The cheaper the better

6. 3-D modeling in blender for a small game I'm working on (the i-5 I have as worked fine, a little slow, but fine)

7. Good for game testing and creating (once again i-5 has been fine for this so far)

Thanks for any help! also if you guys know a good CPU cooler to get for cheap please let me know.

It would be much cheaper to keep your current motherboard and get a Haswell i7 4790 instead.

Please quote our replys so we get a notification and can reply easily. Never cheap out on a PSU, or I will come to watch the fireworks.

well, I was thinking that I might be able to find a CPU,mobo, ram combo deal for memorial day sale then I would future prove it as well and have the amazing processing power.

Perhaps, but you wont gain that much performance over a 4790, much cheaper this way.

wouldent be better to upgrade sooner than later because if i upgrade ill be paying a lot and still be 3 gens behind (i don't want to upgrade than in 2-3 years have to upgrade again)

not that much difference between a 1231v3/4790 and a 7700. like 100Mhz difference and a slightly older architecture, most would be a 5-10% diff. in performance for half the cost

idk

Kabylake hardly counts, and Skylake isnt that much faster (10% at most, less depending on workload).

new gen cpus are the same cpus from previous gens but more efficient (by 5-10%) and less power consumtion... So if you can get i7-4790 for the half of the price, thats a steal

Remember to quote me (or someone else), otherwise we won't going to recieve your answers...
