So, since the Creator's Update, things went from bad to worse on my Windows installation.

I started to see crashes in games I didn't have before so I naively fresh-installed nvidia drivers with ddu just to be sure. No change. Then, games weren't the problem anymore, the whole installation crashed randomly in the weirdest way possible : everything works fine and suddenly, some parts of the interface stops responding (a closing button on a window, the start menu, an entire program...) until everything stops responding. The mouse cursor still moves, but nothing is responding to right/left click. And when using ctrl+alt+del, black screen.

I did a fresh clean install of windows with formating and everything, same damn thing. I've never had a problem like this surviving after a complete wipe, so I thought of a hardware problem, but I didn't change a thing in ages, and this doesn't seem like a hardware problem to me.

Any ideas out there? Thanks

sounds like it has reading and writing problems. which usually, if not for software, indicate a bad hdd or a bad ram.

There are numerous things I can think of that can be causing the issue.

The best way to resolve to test is install windows 7. Run a bunch of stress test (games) and see if the crash continues.

But I would suggest before trying this, disable the xbox game thing that pops up when a game lunches.
