Pretty much what the title says. I wanna know, because the tubes might not be able to reach, since I'm putting the rad in the front of the case. It's an A40 Ultimate, and the case is p400 Tempered glass edition.

it somewhat matters based on the orientation of the fin channel in the block and the CPU die under the IHS

the diff can be couple of degrees, nothing of real importance

I'd call them channels of grooves personally. Fins are what you get on HSFs or rads but there's no point arguing over semantics.

Does it matter?  Yes. 

Does it matter a lot?  No.

Is it hard to figure out?  No.

 

The way it works is this: google your CPU and find out which direction the CPU internal heat spreader is oriented (vertical or horizontal).  Then google which direction that means you want your fins in the water block to orient (I can't recall if it's with or against).  Position accordingly if you want the best cooling performance. 

 

If you don't care then position them for aesthetics or however else you want to decide.
