encoders on obs

i have a very low end laptop and i want to stream/record. what is the best encoder to use? i have a i5-3337u with  gt730m

 

in obs i have options for nvenc h.264, quicksync h.264 and x264

Quick Sync if you can, NVENC would be next best. X264 will just brutalize your CPU.

what about my rate control and bitrate?

Rate control? Bitrate varies on your resolution and how much of a performance impact you want.

i have a 1366x768 monitor and i am new to this so i dont know what you are talking about

I'm going to go to bed and check this tomorrow but go post screenshots of your setting pages in whichever version of OBS you're using (Classic or Studio).
