First of all, hello, I'm new here.

Recently I was playing some CS:GO and suddenly everything went black and froze (couldn't even toggle caps-lock light on my keyboard).

I restarted and the gpu wasn't used, it was using the integrated gpu.

In device manager my GTX 780 was marked with a problem (code 43).

I replaced it with a GF 210 to test and it works fine.

I tried:

  • Opening it and cleaning
  • Downloading other drivers
  • Reinstalling Windows (tried 7 and 10)
  • Pushing on all chips
  • Using DDU (+)

It worked twice and it wasn't registering the problem, I opened CS:GO and loaded a simple map (not a lot of textures or vertices) and there weren't any problems.

Then I tried loading a more complex map (de_dust2) and it started flickering a bit and then crashed right after loading (this time it went weird brown color, not black, if that matters).

This makes me think it might be an issue with memory.

After it crashed again it now registers as code 43 in device manager again.

I never had any issues with this card, I have it for around 3 years now.

It was never overclocked or messed around with, never had high temperatures since I was regularly changing the thermal paste.

Runs with standard air cooling it came with.

Other specifications in case somebody asks:

  • Motherboard: MSI B75MA-P45
  • Power Supply: ZS-Series 550W

Use DDU to fully uninstall GeForce Experience along with the drivers.

Win. 10; Shift + click on restart, then go to Troubleshoot and click on Advanced Startup. Once you land on the options for boot options, press F4 to enter Safe Mode. Then run the DDU utility and choose the first option to uninstall GeForce Experience and GPU drivers. Then restart normally and reinstall them.

Just did this and it still registers as a code 43 problem :/

Have you tried using another (good) power supply from another computer? Also try installing the GTX 780 Ti onto another computer.

Also what do you mean "push on all chips"?

Lol how did you manage to have it run on that psu?

My guess is either years of marginal power killing it or tr standard "it's ok to run it at 80c" issue.

It's not a bad psu, what are you talking about :S

Also I said it was running at good temperatures. Never overclocked, regularly cleaned and new thermal paste.

He's right even Jonny Guru gave it a pass as a good basic psu.

Being good has nothing to do with the requirements of the card. But if Jonny says it's good then there's no way it to be the issue then.
