I got my PC about 3 years ago and when i added a second hard drive i started having problems with my drives where 1 keeps disconnecting so i went back down to 1 and that seemed to fix it for awhile until i started getting a BSOD every couple weeks and then after a few months of that on boot up i get an error that says "Hard Disk Failure is imminent" and i cant sign into anymore windows so i went and bought a new one another 1TB WD HDD and ive had this one for about a month until the same thing happened and i have tried new sata cables , different sata ports, and different HDDs.

Please and Thank you for any help

My PC specs:

6 GB ram

windows 7 64/bit

(thats all i know if you need more tell me and ill try to figure out how to find it out)

I'm thinking either motherboard or bad PSU. Drives shouldn't die like that.

+1 on bad psu.

how would i check to see if thats the problem and if so how would i fix it?

Well you'd install a new PSU and run the system for some time to see if the issues stop.

well is the HDD actually dead or should putting in a new PSU fix that problem?

Hdd is most likely dead.

Best bet would be a new PSU.

I can't say weather it is or not I can't physically inspect it. According to your story though these drives are dying quickly one after another. This isn't normal. Something is causing them to die prematurely. It's most likely the PSU. If it's a crappy brand or simply malfunctioning it could decrease the lifespan of the other hardware.
