970 is meh. Don't get a 1070 either. I would wait for VEGA and see price drops on a 1080 or get VEGA

Hey everyone, I currently have a GTX 970 FTW, I want to upgrade, my question is should I get a second one and do SLI or save and get a single 1070? I don't want to go to 1060 because it doesn't seem worth it to me. Thanks all for the advice!

I doubt the GTX 1080 will see another price drop considering how much it had with the GTX 1080 Ti. Unless AMD manages to make Vega as fast as a GTX 1080 Ti for $400.

We will see I guess. If VEGA comes out the 17th like rumored probably not. But if it comes out later maybe as the 1080 is almost a year old now.

970 is meh. Don't get a 1070 either. I would wait for VEGA and see price drops on a 1080 or get VEGA

That's what we all said about Ryzen. Intel didn't drop any prices. I waited 5 months for nothing haha. But if Vega is releasing this month I can wait. It's not like I'm buying it today. Just wanted to see what would be the best option.

Guess it depends on when you plan on upgrading and how long it would take to save for which ever card. 

 

Id sli the 970. Especially if you've never done it. Worth it to try new things. Should be very cheap to get another one. Then wait for the next fancy line up of cards and get one of those prematurely.
