So I have done some research. I play some Dota 2 and CS:GO during my free time but my pc is too far away from the router and I get massive spikes in ping. Apparently, a powerline adapter is a pretty good way to fix this but I honestly don't know at this point. On the one hand, I'd rather not scream into my headset in the middle of my living room. On the other hand, powerline adapters seem to stop working after 6 months, according to a few reviews. If any of you could help me decide what to do and give me a few options below around £60, please tell me. Thanks.

Well my and my roommates used a powerline adapter in our apartment because the ethernet jacks were in the bedrooms. Needless to say it fixed the ping spikes we were getting with the WiFi and we had 4 desktops running off of a splitter off the same powerline adapter. We used it for over a year and it worked great but it was a nicer model and I think it was somewhere in the 80 to 90 dollar range from tplink
