Ill just reinstall the Driver from my disc

Don't do that. Get the driver from AMD's site. Guru3d also has a good database of older drivers because I know AMD's site is a bit hard to use to find older ones.

I'm not sure which driver to downgrade to. I'm nervous that ill install adware from a non amd website.

There's no adware on guru3d. Try 17.4.2. That's what I'm using.

try shutting down pc, then unplug monitor wait then plug in and turn on monitor before turning on pc

just a suggestion

believe this is an issue with windows and displayport being treated as plug and play device I have ran into this issue many times

on my pc and few people I know I cant manually turn off my monitors while windows is running and must have monitors on before I turn my pc

Make sure the monitor is running in DP 1.2 mode, check in OSD settings of the monitor.

Try different DP, different cable, different drivers

my cable is new and works fine

Did you use the Cable that was included with teh Monitor, or did you buy a new Cable?

if so, which Cable did you buy? Maybe you bought a bad one.

There is a chance, the included DP Cable isn't that great, and has too low quality for 144 Hz.

There are tons of people with a 4k / 60 Hz monitor, where the included DP Cable was NOT able to transfer 4k @ 60 Hz.
