Also jayz is the one who told me to do this so.. windows does not recommend a safe mode, the screen just freezes

Shut the PC off halfway through a boot. It should go into the recovery assistance centre, where you select alternative boot methods or whatever, and go into safe mode from there. Then uninstall afterburner.

Hey so I really really fr*cked up. I just built me this new pc that was really good and I tried to OC the GC. I downloaded msi afterburner and tried turning some stuff up. After I hit apply, the pc froze and nothing happend.

The cursor won't move, every time I reset the pc and login, I get this 5-10 second leeway time where it works until afterburner kicks in. I feel so stupid cause in Afterburner I made it so it always OCs when the pc turns on.

Im running Windows 10

i have a GTX 1070 EVGA

I have a MSI Motherboard

i have a i5

i am an idiot

Please help, I really hate my self right now

Don't stress the GPU until you can disable the OC, if you absolutely can't use the PC then use the OnBoard video and DDU on safe mode.

After you boot a couple times, Windows should start into "safe mode" or something. I'm pretty sure JayzTwoCents has a vid on this, anyone care to link it? (I might just find it myself)

I don't know what you mean by "Windows does not recommend a safe mode." It doesn't matter if it recommends it or not...You can do it by spamming one of the F keys(I can't remember which one it is).

What was your exact process of overclocking? I don't care what any YouTuber says, including Linus and Jay. Whenever you make higher adjustments to the CPU and/or GPU clock speeds, and vRAM clock speeds, go in small increments, testing each time sufficiently. Rinse and repeat.

Simply remove the card, use integrated graphics and disable/uninstall afterburner, and reinsert card.

i5 6600k and GTX 1070 but I play 1600-900. 1440p BABY!

Still, don't put too much faith in my buying decisions. xD
