1050 nuts OC

so a mate of mine dont have the greatest pc in the world so i was like o i will help you OC the gpu and right now he has a standard clocks 1050 from evga will the 1 fan cooler at max speed its running at 1760mhz at 44c!!! how can some1 explain to me how its doing that 

going from 1300-1760 made it 5c hotter???????

Are you sure you did any benchmarks and stress test to make sure it runs stable? But damn nice half a ghz worth of overclock

its not huge on the voltage ngl but gave it a good bump not got time to make it stable tonight but the fps was not flying all over when it was in game about 5 fps each way max so thats a good sign whats a safe voltage on these cards go for a highest core clock 1050 (on air) at this rate

So if you have a pascal card, try to hit 1800 as well.

i lost the lottery on my rx480 1350 at 85c xfx rs card (2x90mm fans at 3600rpm)

The RS cooler is also not amazing, but yeah that's also a bit of a hot GPU.

 

But you could get an Arctic Accelero Extreme III or IV, they cost around $50 and cool almost as well as an AIO. Then go nuts

Pascal won't respond to voltage unfortunately. What you can do on stock voltage, that's what you're getting.

 

But of course don't take my word, try to add voltage as much as it'll let you. I think it doesn't let you add much though.

using msi afterburner ata 7% atm dont want to go higher then that unless some1 with more knowledge them me and experience says its safe

You won't kill a 1050 by adding voltage, go nuts

 

(I can't guarantee this statement, but Nvidia put a veeeeery conservative limit on overvolting so you won't kill it, 99%)

nvidia limited their 1070/1080 to 1.04v only

Yeah I thought as much. Adding voltage throttles because they also allow very little leniency on the power target. Go Nvidia

tbf i was thinking about getting a 1070 but my rx480 at 1350mhz is pumping iron running bf1 at 1440p 120-144fps on high so i was like well theres no point in making that upgrade
